Senate: Just a year ago, I’d been predicting Republican losses, since they had more seats to defend. Instead, they pick up several seats. And in 2012, the Democrats have far more seats to defend, in less favorable states.
House: 60+ seats is historic, particularly in the post-war era of computerized gerrymandering of districts. I hope that John Boehner is tough enough for the challenges that we know lie ahead.
California: Alas. What a strange state is my home! The majority of voters chose, yet again, to keep this state a wholly owned subsidiary of the public employee unions. In a state that’s bankrupt! Evidently, California voters have an infinite faith in the willingness of the other states to bail us out of our charming improvidences.
