Just 3, Christmas dawn, he rises with glee.

13, with a yawn, he snarls, “Let me be!”

23, sleeping late, from last night’s reverie.

33 he pleads,  “Wait! One more cuddle for me!”

43 cries, “It’s late!  Get up!  Light the tree!”

53, he’d still sleep, but he has to go _____,

Then forgets just what he was going to say,

Except, “Merry Christmas! Have a joy-filled day.”
